Advanced Materials Technology (AMT), an ISO-certified company founded in 2005, is an innovative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) column manufacturer focused on improving the presentation of the sample to the detector. Using novel Fused-Core® particle design, AMT has challenged conventional wisdom and engineered innovative solutions for the separation’s community.
AMT continues to be a leader in novel superficially porous particle development enabling high efficiency and reliability for scientists running both small and large molecule separations in addition to delivering application specific solutions designed to meet industry challenges. The company is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, and has grown from two employees to more than 40.
The Challenge
AMT is a small company founded by scientists. It has emerged as a HPLC technology leader in the pharmaceutical/bio-pharmaceutical; food and beverage; and environmental/industrial market segments. To support continued growth and to meet customer requirements, AMT identified the need for advanced training to support improvement to standard work, document control and business planning organization in order to achieve ISO9001 certification.
DEMEP training expanded the capabilities of our staff by building on the skills we have trained on with them over the last 12 years. Certification secured sales with several customers requiring ISO9001. This particular training event led us to an excellent score from our ISO auditor and a certification that our customers were happy to see.
MEP's Role
AMT engaged with the Delaware Manufacturing Extension Partnership (DEMEP), part of the MEP National Network™, to support training and execution towards an ISO9001 certification which identified several areas to improve business and manufacturing processes. The entire staff was trained in ISO9001 standards and several employees were trained as internal auditors. DEMEP supported a complete review against the ISO9001 standard to help prepare for the audit registrar.
