The group is recognized for SimPROCESD, an accessible, open-source, low-entry-barrier manufacturing simulator for planning and analyzing production. The team developed novel and advanced features which support small to medium-sized enterprises and academic research, and addresses long-standing gaps in manufacturing evaluations. SimPROCESD enables stakeholders to compare engineering benefits and financial risks of maintenance and resource planning policies, understand the impact of AI-based risk management solutions, and integrate processes, controls, and economics into system testing.
