Justin Pomerantz (Fed)
Engineering Technician
Justin Pomerantz is an Engineering Technician in the Fire Fighting Technology (FFT) Group of the Fire Research Division (FRD) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). With a background in welding, fabrication, and engineering collaboration, he brings hands-on expertise and innovation to Fire Research and Safety Technology.
Before joining NIST, Mr. Pomerantz honed his skills in private industry as a Welding Specialist, working closely with engineering teams to develop fabrication plans and prototypes using cutting-edge digital design tools and 3D printing technology.
His career journey includes serving as a Munition Systems Specialist in the United States Air Force, followed by roles as a Port Engineer in Baltimore and Welding Specialist.
