The SmartAmerica Challenge is bringing together organizations
To build on the success of that meeting, the NIST Presidential Innovation Fellows welcome you to play a part in a follow-on meeting on February 11, 2014, at the NIST Gaithersburg, Maryland, campus. Attendees will hear about progress being made on the interconnected test beds that were identified at the December 2013 workshop, as well as others that are newly proposed or independently pursued.
Cyber-physical systems--what some have called an internet of things--involves connecting devices and systems in diverse sectors like transportation, energy, manufacturing, and healthcare in fundamentally new ways. The SmartAmerica Challenge aims to accelerate advances in the field by providing a venue for innovators to present concepts for interconnected CPS test bed systems to validate the reliability and security of communications protocols, as well as other technologies, architectures, and systems that advance CPS. Instructions for participating in this capacity are outlined below.
New SmartAmerica Scenarios and Testbeds: Registrants and other interested individuals are invited to submit optional one-page papers prior to the workshop to start discussions on SmartAmerica Challenge relevant scenarios and testbeds. One-page papers should be emailed to smartamerica(at)nist.gov. Please refrain from revealing proprietary information since the paper will be made publicly available.
