Abstract

A short history of the relationship between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Calibration Coordination Group (CCG) of the Department of Defense (DoD) from its inception in 1968 to the present is illustrated with descriptions of many projects in several technical areas. Examples are given not only of how these projects aided in maintaining the services' operational readiness but also of industrial applications which followed in their wake.
