Abstract
This paper forcuses on the redesign of the snubber system that is used in the 112.5kN dead weight machine located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Obstacles that were overcame pertaining to the original machine design and problems encountered with the initial air cylinder snubber approach will be identified. The approach, improvements, and limitations to using the current air bag snubber system will be examined.Citation
