The Critical Evaluation of Transition Probabilities of Na-Ca (Z=11 to 20)

Author(s)

Daniel E. Kelleher, Larissa Podobedova

Abstract

We provide a progress report on the critical evaluation of transition probabilities for Na to Ca (Z-11-20), which are to replace the 30 year old NIST/AIP/ACS publication (Journal of Physical and Chemical Reference Data Monograph 7) on this material. Preliminary compilations have been performed for Na, Mg, Al, and Si. However, for fluorine-like spectra unexpectedly large deviations have been found between different large-scale theoretical calculations on which we rely heavily. The reasons for these discrepancies are currently being pursued.
