Abstract
We investigate the temperature and polarization dependences of the Raman scattering intensity in a single crystal sample of La1.475Nd0.4Sr0.125CuO4which is known to exhibit antiphase stripe magnetic/charge order below T = 30 K.While the signature of charge ordering in the phonon spectrum is weak at best, the electronic continuum at higher frequencies (Raman shift > 1000 cm-1) shows atwo-component enhancement which increases with decreasing temperature. This enhancement is interpreted as the signature of Raman scattering fromrelatively slow fluctuations of the stripe phase for temperatures 200 K to 10 K.
