Abstract
Available for licensing is a low cost system for monitoring degradation in robot work cells and automation systems. The concept has been proven and a prototype is available to facilitate optimization of the physical design for industrial users. The invention provides a cost effective and easy-to-integrate sensor to the manufacturing community that can be deployed to detect changes in the precision of the position of elements within work cells. Discrete sensors provide an easy to integrate solution that is inexpensive to produce at scale.
