Dr. Chandan Paul joined the Fire Research Division at NIST in 2023 as a Senior Research Scientist. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Computational Science, from The Pennsylvania State University in 2018. Dr. Paul's research focuses on advancing combustion and radiative heat transfer models for practical engineering applications. Currently, Dr. Paul is working on enhancing the capabilities of NIST Fire Dynamics Simulator to improve its chemistry, soot, and radiation models.
