Courtney Grate (Fed)

Courtney Grate is an Interagency Policy and iEdison Specialist in the Technology Partnerships Office (TPO) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). She handles policy issues related to the Bayh-Dole regulations of federally-funded inventions and convenes the interagency working group for Bayh-Dole. 

Ms. Grate also monitors the functionality and day-to-day administration of iEdison, the central platform for reporting inventions and patents resulting from federally funded research. She is a liaison to iEdison’s agency and extramural users.

Before joining TPO, Courtney was the Senior Intellectual Property Manager at NUtech Ventures, the technology transfer office for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Kearney. She was also a patent extern at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Courtney holds a J.D. and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is also registered to practice before the USPTO.
