Katie Boeckl serves as senior advisor on domestic science programs within the NIST Director’s Office. In this capacity, she advises NIST and Department of Commerce leadership on a range of issues related to NIST’s programs, technological innovation, the federal research and development enterprise, and interagency dynamics. Prior to this role, Katie represented NIST on a temporary assignment to the U.S. Department of Commerce Office of Policy and Strategic Planning. Katie began her NIST tenure working on communications for NIST's cybersecurity programs before she joined the Privacy Engineering Program, where she helped develop the NIST Privacy Framework Version 1.0. Katie has a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland, College Park.
