Mark Ferris, Ph.D. is a chemical engineer and NRC postdoctoral researcher in the NIST Magnetic Imaging Group. He completed his Ph.D. at Colorado School of Mines where he developed fluorescent nanosensors used for biological analysis. His postdoctoral research involves developing size-changing, magnetic hydrogels for MRI-compatible smart contrast agents. Outside of the lab, Mark enjoys riding bikes on pavement, gravel roads, and singletrack.
