Michael Frey (Fed)

Mathematical Statistician

Michael Frey was awarded the Ph.D. in statistical communication theory in 1990 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to complete an NSF/NRC post-doctoral fellowship hosted by the Statistical Engineering Division of the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Dr. Frey joined the mathematics faculty at Bucknell University in 1992, attaining the rank of Full Professor in 2004. He presently leads the Applied and Computational Statistics Group at NIST, designing and analyzing physical experiments and engaging in and directing research in statistics, machine learning, quantum information, and network security.
