Tasshi Dennis (Fed)

Quantum Networks Project Leader

Tasshi Dennis is a senior scientist in the High-Speed Measurements Group within the Communications Technology Laboratory (CTL) in Boulder, CO.  For more than 20 years, Dr. Dennis has been involved with a diverse array of research projects that has included optical fiber communications, wavelength standards, high-speed photodetector metrology, electro-optic sampling methods, all-optical sampling, biomedical imaging, and photovoltaic characterization.  Most recently he is the project leader for the Quantum Networking and Transduction project within CTL, applying his decades of research experience with classical optical networks and their development during the telecom boom to the quantum realm.  The project has been successful in determining how best to implement a continuous-variables quantum network of superconducting nodes connected by optical channels in the face of realistic signal loss and added noise.  As an experimentalist, Dr. Dennis and his team are actively constructing a quantum networking testbed to demonstrate remote microwave entanglement.

Dr. Dennis is also an expert in the implementation of quality management systems conforming to international standard ISO/IEC 17025 and services as the Quality Manager of the RF Technology Division of CTL.  He is a senior member of the Optical Society of America and adjunct faculty at the University of Colorado - Boulder.
