Risk Management Concepts for Production and Support Personnel

Berkley Medical Resources, Inc., is located in Uniontown and Smithfield, Pennsylvania, and has approximately 170 employees. They are an ISO 9001:2015 registered company whose products include industrial, food service and household wipes in addition to green household cleaning products. The company’s surgical division is a registered FDA Class II Medical Device Manufacturer registered under QSR 21CFR820 making Splash Shield™ disposable face shields and clean room face masks. 

Berkley Medical Resources previously had Catalyst Connection, part of the Pennsylvania MEP and the MEP National Network™, deliver the Risk Management Principles and Guidelines course to management and supervisory personnel. As a follow up, the company was looking to improve the recognition of risk management concepts for its production personnel through a customized training program. Berkley also requested assistance with the development of a pamphlet to explain the ISO 9001:2015 standard to new hires and reinforce the understanding of current employees.

Catalyst Connection developed and facilitated the unique training requested on risk management concepts for production and support personnel. The course was designed to raise the basic awareness of risk management concepts and how the proper management of risks improves the organization. Consultation was provided for the technical content of a planned ISO 9001:2015 introductory pamphlet for new employees.
