OSAC Registry Implementation: Implement

Icon of a computer

Once a forensic science service provider (FSSP) has implemented standards on the OSAC Registry, either fully or partially, acknowledge your efforts and let OSAC know about this accomplishment!

Tips for Success:

  • Remember that implementation is not an all-or-nothing situation! FSSPs can implement an entire standard or certain clauses or requirements of them. Focus on implementing the standards that are applicable to your organization or discipline.
  • Let OSAC know about your current compliance or self-adoption of the applicable standards on the OSAC Registry by submitting an OSAC Registry Implementation Survey. FSSPs who provide their standards implementation status to the OSAC Program Office will be eligible to receive an OSAC Registry Implementation Certificate. The certificate is suitable for framing and displaying onsite at your organization.
  • OSAC acknowledges and respects that some implementers prefer to keep their status private, so we maintain an internal spreadsheet to track standards implementation by FSSPs. We will only share implementer information if given permission by the FSSP. Stakeholders in the forensic science and criminal justice communities as well as Congress have expressed interest in following the progress of standards implementation by forensic science service providers.
  • FSSPs may consider going public with their implementation efforts and highlight their accomplishments in a news release. Read the news releases from some of these OSAC Registry Implementers.
