OSAC Organizational Structure

OSAC members and affiliates make up a multi-level organization consisting of the following units:

An OSAC unit may also establish task groups to accomplish a specific goal. While task groups are not considered a permanent OSAC unit, there are three dedicated task groups that address human factors, legal, and terminology topics.

Following our core principles of balance, consensus, harmonization, and openness, these experts work together to facilitate the development of scientifically sound standards and guidelines for the forensic science community.

Additionally, the OSAC Program Office (OPO) consists of NIST staff who provide operational support to the organization.
