Abstract

The problem of generating a generalized solution is further exasperated by the varying nature of reporting requirements placed by clients on the construction management companies, which are normally pushed to the metrology subcontractors. Further there is a venerable ocean of metrology information, from many different sources. Even large-scale construction firms may have a difficult time integrating all forms of metrology data together for a unified picture of the site. LiveView seeks to transport live information about position, orientation, and status of objects as observed from remote sensors. This transport must be done in a timely manner to databases, visualizers, and other applications interested in sensory data. The mechanism for transport of sensory data should be standardized to allow for interchange of similar sensing technologies with minimal or no impact to an existing system.
