Proposed Diffuse Ambient Contrast Measurement Methods for Flat Panel Displays

Abstract

Three methods are presented to measure the ratio of full-screen white to full-screen black under diffuse illumination scaled to a typical illuminance level encountered in automotive and aviation environments. This contrast is called the ambient contrast of an electronic display.
