Abstract

This document is based on a document Foundations and future of detection and quantification limits prepared for the 1996 Proceedings of the Joint Statistical Meetings, published by the American Statistical Association. Numerical examples were added to this version to meet their intent to incorporate this in a manual for their own laboratories and those of their member states.
