Molly Wintenberg (Fed)

NRC Postdoctoral Fellow

Molly Wintenberg joined the Cellular Engineering Group in 2022 as a Postdoctoral Fellow mentored by Elizabeth Strychalski. During her work in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Clemson University, she utilized bioinformatic analysis to characterize the transcriptional response of model and environmental microorganisms to continuous in situ low dose ionizing radiation.

At NIST, Molly is interested in developing a high-throughput measurement pipeline to engineer living measurement systems for detection of diverse environmental contaminants. More specifically, Molly’s research focuses on using RNA sequencing and transcriptomic analysis to identify differential expression patterns of microorganisms exposed to PFAS to engineer transcriptionally encoding RNA-based circuits.
