Abstract

A crossover equation, developed for the thermodynamic properties of H2O and D2O in the critical region, has been extended to mixtures of H2O and D2O. The equation yields a good representation of the experimental excess-enthalpy data for the mixtures. A comparison is made of the critical behavior of the isobaric specific heat capacity of the pure components versus that of the mixtures. The Krichevskii parameter and the behavior of the Henry constant for dilute solutions of D2O in H2O are also discussed.
