Display Metrology Concerns in International Standards

Published

Author(s)

Abstract

The display metrologist often assumes that all one needs is a calibrated, well characterized instrument to obtain accurate assessment of display quality. However, measurement procedures can be ambiguous, complicated, and not robust, introducing errors to those unaware. The present state of display metrology standards is discussed, and recommendations are made for future standard development.
