NIST OWM Info Hour: EVSE Metrology Training Program

NIST OWM Info Hours

Learn about the JOET-supported effort at the NIST Office of Weights and Measures (OWM) to develop an electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) metrology training program. An overview of the JOET/OWM collaboration and its role in meeting the 97% uptime charging goal for U.S. EVSE infrastructure will be provided. The program will enable state weights and measures officials and other stakeholders to ensure equity in the EV charging market through compliance with commercial standards developed by state regulators and members of the U.S. EVSE industry. The proposed NIST program will primarily be designed to train weights and measures officials who will be both conducting inspections and instructing state regulators on the metrological testing of commercial EV charging stations.
Training will be developed as a 5-day course that will include webinars, targeted learning modules, and both classroom and laboratory lectures and hands-on training.
