The event, Additive Construction – The Path to Standardization Continues, will bring together industry and academic stakeholders to discuss gaps in the current standard documents and how the gaps can be filled. Building on previous engagements, this year's workshop will include presentations, discussions, and breakout sessions directed toward the current state and desired future state for the additive construction industry, R&D needs, timelines, and action items. Topics will focus on the materials and testing methods related to additive construction applications (structural, infrastructure, urban, and interior/exterior elements) and the needs of the industry with respect to education, engineering design, standards, robotic safety, and guidelines. Participation will be through application for attendance from industry, government, and research organizations to participate in the workshop along with representation from several ASTM, ICC, and ACI technical committees. The workshop discussions will contribute to the continuing development of a roadmap for standardization of printing and testing methods.
Attendees who are interested in submitting a poster to present during the workshop are welcome to send in their abstracts HERE for review and approval. Please contact Shawn Platt at shawn.platt [at] nist.gov (shawn[dot]platt[at]nist[dot]gov) if you have any questions.
