Matthew DiSalvo ()

Matthew DiSalvo is a staff biomedical engineer in the Biophysical and Biomedical Measurement Group. Matt joined NIST in 2019 and completed both a Johns Hopkins PREP postdoctoral fellowship and a National Research Council postdoctoral fellowship.

At NIST, Matt’s research with Dr. Gregory Cooksey focuses on developing microdevices and automated instrumentation for uncertainty quantification of optofluidic measurements in flow cytometry and enzymological measurements in droplet microfluidics. Prior to NIST Matt was a graduate student and postdoctoral researcher at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he developed automated cell-sorting “microraft” devices for stem cell processing and analysis techniques for gut-on-a-chip bioimaging assays.
