Smart Grid Federal Advisory Committee

NIST Smart Grid Advisory Committee

This advisory committee is no longer in operation. As part of a government-wide review of Advisory Committees mandated by Executive Order 13875, the NIST Smart Grid Advisory Committee was dissolved on September 30, 2019.

Charter

The Committee provides input to NIST on Smart Grid standards, priorities, and gaps, on the overall direction, status, and health of the Smart Grid implementation by the Smart Grid industry, and on the direction of Smart Grid research and standards activities. The duties of the Committee are solely advisory in nature in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act. A copy of the Committee Charter is accessible here.

Under the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, NIST has "primary responsibility to coordinate development of a framework that includes protocols and model standards for information management to achieve interoperability of smart grid devices and systems."
