Abstract
The contents of this volume comprise the proceedings of the 1997 high Temperature Superconductor Symposium titled Impact of Recent Advances in synthesis and Processing of Ceramic Superconductors, sponsored by the American Ceramic Society. This symposium was held in May 5-7, 1997, in the Cincinnati Convention Center. The goal of this symposium was to provide a forum to promote interlaboratory cooperation and information exchange among scientists and engineers, and to address the current challenges in the high Tc superconductivity research. The symposium featured papers that addressed current processing techniques and methods for high temperature superconductor oxides in various forms, including powder, bulk, thin film, tape and wire. The articles in this volume cover a large portion of the invited, and contributed talks and are divided into 5 parts, corresponding to the following areas: [1] processing and single crystal growth, [2] crystal structure and synthesis, [3] phase equilibria and crystal growth [4] films and applications, and [5] wires and composites.
