The NIST Office of Weights and Measures (OWM) is thrilled to announce that the OWM Contacts System has undergone a significant upgrade to enhance the user experience and provide outstanding customer service.
The new OWM Contacts System online portal will continue to be the hub for requesting OWM products and services, including OWM training classes, publications, and full access to your training history.
We are excited to offer this new course and training scheduling interface for our customers. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s new and what you can look forward to when using the new system:
The redesigned OWM Contacts System interface replicates the familiar online "shopping experience" where a customer can "order" OWM classes and products. With a fresh look and sleek design, finding what you need has never been easier. Whether on your desktop or mobile device, the new design ensures an efficient experience.
Customers can browse/view available classes and products without registering for an account. However, they must have an account to request a class or order a product.
Your email address will now be your username. Users will now be able to reset their own passwords. Once logged in, you can check the status of upcoming training, past training, pending product orders, and prior orders.
If you currently have an OWM Contacts System account, your training history and contact information will be automatically transferred to the new system. The old URL will automatically redirect users to a new landing webpage.
Customers will now be able to:
To facilitate the transition between systems, NIST OWM will need to sunset the “old” OWM Contacts System starting on Friday, August 16, 2024. Thus, customers will not be able to log into the old OWM Contacts System after Thursday, August 15, 2024.
Customers will not be able to access the new OWM Contacts Systems to create their new account until Tuesday, September 3, 2024, the go-live date for customer use.
We understand that transitioning to a new system can be challenging. Thus, we provide a “Help” feature, located on the top ribbon, that contains FAQs and tutorial videos:
This will ensure that you have quick access to help information when you need it. We also invite you to visit the new OWM Contacts System after September 3 and tour the upgraded portal.
If you have any questions, you may email us at owm [at] nist.gov (owm[at]nist[dot]gov). We’d love to hear your feedback and welcome any suggestions you have to improve your experience. We appreciate your continued support and participation in the OWM community.
