OWM provides a series of e-Learning Resources and Training Materials that are designed to supplement our instructor-led courses and seminars. These include a collection of recorded webinars and training videos, and Info Hour sessions, NIST Handbook 44 self-study course materials, and Examination Procedure Outlines (EPOs).

Yes, OWM continues to provide a series of metrology courses that are held in person at the NIST Gaithersburg campus. These include Fundamentals of Metrology, Volume Metrology, Mass Metrology, and Advanced Mass Metrology. Please visit the OWM Training and Events calendar for more information.
Furthermore, OWM hosts a series of Regional Measurement Assurance Program (RMAP) seminars at various state metrology laboratory locations across the U.S. These events are also listed in the OWM Training and Events calendar. Learn more about OWM's RMAP activities and the upcoming seminars here.
The OWM Contacts System website was not formatted for mobile devices (cell phones). If using a mobile device, you must use the search feature within the mobile version of the website to find Products, Courses, and/or Classes. For the best experience, we recommend accessing the OWM Contacts System from a desktop, laptop, or tablet.
Although you can browse for training or products without an account, you must have an account to request OWM training or products. Follow these instructions to create an account on the OWM Contacts System storefront, or email your question to owm [at] nist.gov (owm[at]nist[dot]gov):
1. Select Log In/Register.
2. On the next page, select Register at the bottom right-hand corner of the webpage.
3. Enter Personal Information, including first name, last name, and phone number.
4. Enter Additional Information, including your Organization Name (if none, list First and Last name)
5. Enter Login Information. Your email address will be used to login to the OWM Storefront.
6. Enter Billing Address.
7. Enter Shipping Address.
8. Review Privacy Act Statement.
9. Click Register.
Once registered, customers will receive an email with a link to establish their password for the NIST store. Passwords must be at least 12 characters, must include numbers and uppercase and lowercase letters.

OWM provides a series of in-person and online metrology training events for the state metrology laboratories, metric and STEM educators, and the weights and measures community. Please see the OWM Training and Events calendar.
Our customers can request specific OWM training through the OWM Contacts System which serves as an online storefront. Please see the Help for more information or email your question to owm [at] nist.gov (owm[at]nist[dot]gov).
Once you have registered for an account, watch this video to learn how to request a class.
Once an account has been created in the OWM Contacts System, a customer can login to browse and request OWM training and products. To login, customers select Log In/Register in the upper right-hand corner of the Store site. Enter login information (username and password) under the Existing Customer section, then select Log In.
Hint: Your username is your email address.
In addition, training can be found using the OWM Contacts System menu. Customers can select the program area, then select a category or area to view the products found in that area.
After locating the desired product, select the class title. The training details page provides additional information about the class:

7. Prerequisite Requirements

Classes: This will bring up all scheduled classes and will allow you to request/register for classes in the OWM Contacts System. To find a class for a particular area, the drop-down list offers you different types of training based on your selection.
Calendar: This will allow you to choose a month to view scheduled classes offered that month.
Products: Lists products/publications that OWM offers. This list can be filtered by choosing categories in the drop-down menu.
Trainings: Lists OWM courses that have not been scheduled. Your selection will notify OWM of your interest and will be taken into consideration when we are planning future events.
The My Upcoming Classes tab allows customers to view any upcoming classes they are registered for in the OWM Contacts System.
The Pending Requests tab lists your requests for training that have not been approved in the OWM Contacts System.
The Orders tab allows customers to view all previous orders, track order statuses, and view order details. To view past orders, log in to the OWM Contacts System, select Orders, and select the desired order number to view detailed information.
The Training History tab allows customers to view any classes they were registered for and their status on completion of the class in the OWM Contacts System. This replaces the Unofficial Transcript option in the previous OWM Contacts System.
To request an Official Transcript, please send an email with your name, phone number, and reason for your request to OWM [at] nist.gov (OWM[at]nist[dot]gov). Please allow up to 20 business days for an official transcript. Official Transcripts are issued as a digital document (PDF).
