A number of resources exist that incorporate the NICE Framework in their tool or that provide you with a way to better use the NICE Framework yourself.

NICE Framework Online: Two Tools

Do you want to explore the NICE Framework online? These tools let you click through Work Role Categories, find NICE Framework Competency Areas, and look at specific Task, Knowledge, and Skill (TKS) statements. With search functionality. Note that these tools are derived from the NICE Framework Components v.1.0.0 (see the NICE Framework Resource Center Current Versions page for XLSX, JSON, and CTDL versions).

  • NIST Cybersecurity and Privacy Reference Tool (CPRT): Browsable and searchable version of the NICE Framework; includes streamlined XLSX and JSON downloads.
  • NICE Framework Online: Browsable and searchable version of the NICE Framework hosted by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS) under the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)

CyberSeek: Jobs Heat Map, Career Pathways, and Education & Training
CyberSeek offers a suite of interactive tools that includes:

  • U.S. Heat Map: Explore this interactive heat map to get a granular snapshot of demand and supply data for cybersecurity jobs at the state and metro area levels. Jobs are organized by NICE Framework Work Role Categories.
  • Career Pathway Map: There are many opportunities for workers to start and advance their careers within cybersecurity. Learn about key jobs within cybersecurity, common transition opportunities between them, and detailed information about the salaries, credentials, and skill sets associated with each one. 
  • Cybersecurity Education and Training Providers: Use this map to find an educator or training center near you! 

Cyber Career Pathways Tool: Learn About Work Roles
An interactive way to explore NICE Framework Work Roles. Includes common relationships between roles as well as frequently used titles in each role. Compare Work Roles, access federal data, and access microchallenges available from Try Cyber.

NICCS Education and Training Catalog: Find Courses
A central location where cybersecurity professionals across the nation can find over 14,000 cybersecurity-related courses aligned with the NICE Framework Work Roles and Competency Areas. The tool has been developed by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS) under the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for the federal workforce but can be used broadly. 

NICE Framework Mapping Tool: Workforce Planning

Answer questions about your cybersecurity-related job position and the tool will show you how it aligns to the NICE Framework and what can be done to strengthen your cybersecurity team. It can be used to help you inventory your cyber workforce and support planning, help with coding positions, and see where staff may be underutilized. The tool has been developed by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Careers and Studies (NICCS) under the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for the federal workforce but can be used broadly.
