Q: What is JSON?
A: JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) is “an open standard file format and data interchange format that uses human-readable text to store and transmit data objects consisting of attribute–value pairs and arrays” (source: Wikipedia). JSON is used in many web applications to transmit structured data from system to system. The JSON files representing the NICE Framework Components use the NIST CPRT schema.
Q: How can I use the JSON files available on the NICE Framework’s Current Version page?
A: The Current Version page of the NICE Framework Resource Center features two JSON files. The first features only elements from the v1.0.0 NICE Framework Components, the current version of the NICE Framework’s data elements. The second, found under the “Previous Version: 2017” bullet, contains a mapping from the 2017 to v1.0.0 elements. Users who are implementing the NICE Framework in their applications for the first time are likely to need only the v1.0.0 JSON with current elements; users updating applications that already use previous versions of the NICE Framework may benefit from using the mapping file.
