NICE Framework 2019 Request for Comments
In 2019, NICE convened a Core Authoring Team that included representatives from numerous departments and agencies in the United States federal government to begin revisions to the 2017 NIST Special Publication 800-181. To gather input on the major areas in which NIST was considering updates, a Request for Comments with a list of topics was made November 19, 2019 with a January 13, 2020 deadline. This page provides the responses received during that period.
A draft revision of the NICE Framework was subsequently developed, incorporating feedback from the RFC period to improve agility, flexibility, interoperability, and modularity. This draft was made available for public comments July 15 – August 28, 2020 and adjusted accordingly, resulting in the fourth and current version of the NICE Framework in November 2020: NIST Special Publication 800-181 revision 1, the Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity (NICE Framework).
