The Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity (NICE Framework) (NIST SP 800-181r1) provides a common language for describing cybersecurity tasks, knowledge, and skills. It can be used in career awareness, education and training, hiring, and workforce planning and development.
We want to hear from you!
NICE is looking at updates in the following areas.
- NICE Framework Tools
NICE seeks to expand capabilities for web access to the NICE Framework data, including through the development of new tools and resources. NICE welcomes discussion about current tools and feedback on desired new tool functionality in the NICE Framework Users Group. - Alignments
NICE continues to seek opportunities for alignment with other relevant guidance and frameworks including, but not limited to: the Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) (including the CSF 2.0 revision), NIST Privacy Framework, and NIST Risk Management Framework. In addition, NICE is interested in learning about alignments to the NICE Framework from curriculum developers, service and tool providers, certification bodies, competition organizers, and others. Comments and suggestions for alignments can be shared via the NICE Framework Users Group. - New Work Roles
NICE intends to develop a series of additional new Work Roles in 2024. If you have a suggestion for a new Work Role, please contact us at NICEFramework [at] nist.gov (NICEFramework[at]nist[dot]gov). - Competency Area Development
NICE will be engaging with subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop the newly released Competency Areas. If you have expertise in these areas and would like to support this work, contact us at NICEFramework [at] nist.gov (NICEFramework[at]nist[dot]gov).
