NIST CCA 2011 Elections

The new NIST CCA Board of Directors will be elected at the NIST CCA Annual Meeting on Oct 11, 2011

from 12-1pm in Lect Rm C.

Letter to parents on behalf of the Election Chair (8/18/2011):

Dear Members of the Child Care Association, As we approach the beginning of the school year for the NIST Child Care Center and Child Care Association (CCA), it means it is time to elect new Board members. Serving on the Board of Directors for the CCA is a wonderful way to involve yourself in your child's experience at the Center and to provide a service to your fellow parents/guardians and the Center Director. I have served on the Board for three years and am serving as the Election Committee Chair for the election this year.

I am soliciting interest from those who would like to run for Board positions. We have 2 positions that are 1 year terms (replacement for retiring members) and 4 positions that are 2 year terms (the standard term duration).

The Board of Directors will host its annual Meet the Board event on Wednesday, 8/31, and Thursday, 9/1 from 7:30 – 9:30 am in the play yard at the Center. This is a great opportunity for you to talk with current Board members about their experience on the Board and to learn more about how the Center and Association operate. Please plan to come, especially if you are interested in running for the Board.

If you are interested in running for a Board position, please send me your bio via email by 9/6/11. I've included my bios from previous elections as samples. Additionally, all current Board members would be more than happy to talk with interested candidates prior to a bio submission. Please feel free to contact me and/or any other Board member directly – our current Board membership is posted outside the Center Director's office.
