SlapSegII is now being performed as an ongoing evaluation. Participants can submit to have segmentation algorithms evaluated by completing a SlapSegII Application . The SlapSegII evaluation Plan provides all the details on the evaluation and how to submit software. Upon completion of testing results will be posted in SlapSegII Results . Participants are limited to testing an algorithm every 90 days from the date the previous successful algorithm started testing (dates will be posted in SlapSegII Results).

SlapSegII Analysis: Matching Segmented Fingerprint Images
This study compared the matching accuracy of hand-marked segmentation and automated segmentation algorithm results to examine the effect of automated slap fingerprint segmentation errors on matching accuracy.
This is the final report for the Slap Fingerprint Segmentation Evaluation II. Any edits or changes to this report will be noted on this page.
This new version of the evaluation plan contains the details on how a successful segmentation will be determined for 2 inch slap image data and a few clarifications on the 3 inch success measure. The following edits were made to the document:

Here is the updated Slap Fingerprint Segmentation Evaluation II Draft Testing Plan as of June 3, 2008 in pdf format.
May 13, 2008:
In 2004, NIST conducted a fingerprint slap segmentation study [1] to assess the state-of-the-art in fingerprint segmentation technology. Given the development of new technology it has become necessary to reassess the current state-of-the-art of segmentation algorithms. SlapSegII will give providers of this technology the opportunity to participate multiple times as their technology improves and compare their results to previous results on a fixed standard database. The SlapSegII testing strategy, evaluation data, and measure of successful segmentation are discussed in detail in this testing plan.
