 The Scientific Working Group - Speaker (Forensic and Investigatory Voice) has produced a set of sample scenarios and encoded them base upon ANSI/NIST-ITL 1-2011 Update:2013. The scenarios are encoded using XML and NIEM 2.1. The explanatory document and transmission examples are open for review at the request of SWG-SPEAKER. Machine Readable Table (MRT): An Easier Way to Implement ANSI/NIST

An MRT is a file which takes table-based definitions for fields and transactions as defined in the ANSI/NIST-ITL standard and converts them into a machine-readable format. The master format of an MRT is in EXtensible Markup Language (XML), which can be easily manipulated into various other formats. The MRTs are very useful when implementing information from standards into software. Instead of manually recording the information into your software, you can download and use the MRTs to make the process more seamless and eliminate the manual step. A standard may consist of more than one MRT, or a set of MRTs. The MRTs layer on top of each other so that shared information in MRTs does not have to be repeated in each level. The first layer consists of the Standard MRTs (i.e., ANSI/NIST-ITL2011). The second layer consists of either the Specification MRTs, which represent specifications (e.g., FBI EBTS) based on the baseline standard, or MRTs for updated versions of the standard (e.g., ANSI/NIST-ITL 2013). For example, the ANSI/NIST-ITL 2013 MRTs use and layer on top of the ANSI/NIST 2011MRTs, so you must also use the ANSI/NIST 2011 MRTs in order to use the ANSI/NIST-ITL2013 MRTs. You can create your own MRT(s) based on the ANSI/NIST-ITL MRTs. To do this you will have to download the MRTs and make necessary edits. The zip file contains MRTs for ANSI/NIST 2011 and ANSI/NIST 2013. In addition, it contains other files that are necessary to view the MRTs in XML and the MRT Definitions document, which describes the format and syntax of each MRT.

The FBI representative at the second ANSI/NIST-ITl 1-2011 update workshop made a major announcement:

• WSQ issue on capturing 2 thumbprints simultaneously on a large platen: See WSQ notice. 
• 2007-2008 and 2008-2007 conversion routine. This was developed by West Virginia University under an FBI contract. It is at the NIGOS webpage. Click on the latest version of the NBIS software. It is a zip file. When unzipped, it is a folder. Open the misc folder and there is another folder called an2konvert That's it!

ANSI/NIST-ITL 2-2008 links

(remove ActivityAugmentationtype and ProtectionOrderAugmentationtype for it to work correctly with JAXB and Java. In this version transactionCategoryCode (TOT) uses an enumeration type for TOTCodeSimpleType and is not substitutable).
